Seeding Criteria

This criteria was reprioritized by the ASAA Board of Directors in May 2003

1.Results of head to head competition this year.
2.Record against common opponents.
3.Conference champion takes precedence over the other place winners in that conference.
4.Contestants with exceptional record against acknowledged strong position.
5.Returning state champion or runner-up in any weight class.
6.Returning state-place winner in any class.
7.Contestant with best overall varsity record.

A completed seeding form listing all match records of eash state entrant, along with their performance at the conference tournament, must be forwarded to ASAA on the Monday before state tournament.

Byes and non-seeded wrestlers will be drawn, not placed, in state tournament brackets after the seeding committee has presented their results to the coaches.
